Re: nitrate spikes in coral tank issues
My nitrate levels shot up to 40 ppm overnight in my 75-gallon mixed reef. Running a Red Sea Reefer with two AI Hydra 32s, weekly 10% water changes, and a Reef Octopus skimmer. Corals look stressed, especially the Acropora. Any ideas what's causing this?
Have you tested your source water ...

Re: Can i keep shrimp with my betta fish
My tank's pretty well-planted, I've got a bunch of java moss and some fake plants for hiding spots. I was thinking of getting a couple ghost shrimp, but I'm not sure if I should. Would keeping just two or three be okay? I'm worried my tank might be too cluttered for them to thrive.

Can i keep shrimp with my betta fish
I've had success keeping a betta with snails, so I'm wondering if it's possible to keep a betta with shrimp. I know bettas see shrimp as a snack, but if there are plenty of hiding spots, maybe it could work.

Can multiple betta fish coexist safely in one space
I'm just curious - has anyone ever successfully kept them, or is it a lost cause? I'm not planning on trying, since they're solitary fish, but I figured I'd ask - maybe if you kept a small group of females in a large tank with lots of distractions, it could work?
