Is it possible for a betta to coexist with cherry shrimp?

I've been considering adding some Cherry Shrimp to my tank and I'm wondering if they'd be compatible with my Betta. The main concern is whether the Betta would see them as food or not. Can anyone share their experience with keeping these two together?
