I think it's pretty clear he just sent the wrong ones over. Spotted ones aren't gonna mimic the tiger pattern, so yeah, looks like a mix-up with the order.

No need to worry about the current tank inhabitants, I think it's time to let the little guy join the community. Being in the open tank will likely boost his growth rate even more.
