Re: Live plants vs. fake plants for Bettas
I've used both, and my betta seems way more active with live plants. Plus, they're gonna look way cooler once they grow in. Just gotta watch out for algae if your lighting's too strong.

Re: compatibility of firefish
I was at my LFS the other day and they've got this 30 gallon display tank, it's got 3 firtideflows and 3 purple ones, plus a pink spot goby. I thought for sure it'd be chaos, but every time I'm in there, it seems pretty laid back.

Re: need a name for my fish
How about Nelson or Chucky - the creepy doll one, not the Rugrats kid. I kinda like the name Onix though.

Re: Torch coral morphing into bubble coral
No PMS meds for me, and honestly, I've never had much luck with them anyway.

Re: Torch coral morphing into bubble coral
Thanks for the input everyone, I'll definitely keep you updated on how it goes. Hoping it's a sign of happiness like felinxo said. My Aussie gold/purple torch next to it seems to be doing fine, its tentacles are still fully extended.

Re: Torch coral morphing into bubble coral
My parameters have been pretty steady, 1.025 for specific gravity, zero for ammonia and nitrite, undetectable phosphate, and nitrates ranging from 5 to 10 between water changes. I've got two powerheads that switch on and off or run both on then both off - same setup since I got the torch. Honestly ...

Torch coral morphing into bubble coral
I've attached two photos of my torch coral. Initially, it looked great for about 6 months. Lately, the tentacles have been barely extending, which is concerning. The second photo shows something unusual - it's only happened twice, but it's started to resemble a bubble coral. The heads are still ...

List of fish species
Hey, so I'm thinking of setting up a 48"x18"x18" tank and sticking to just fish.
I've got my eye on a few species, was thinking:
- 2 tomato clowns
- Firtideflow
- Bi colour angel
- One of these: Trkento4gulate, Black Back, Octo 8 Line, Threadfin or Orange backed butterflyfish (not 100% on that ...
