Re: algae vs plants - who wins?
Also, if you're not running CO2, consider it. My plants went nuts after I started, and algae couldn't keep up. It's a game-changer if you're serious about planted tanks.

Re: algae vs plants - who wins?
Algae's a pain, but it's all about light and nutrients. What's your photoperiod? I cut mine to 6 hours and added floating plants to outcompete the algae. Worked like a charm after a month.
Yep, floaters are clutch. Frogbit and Salvinia sucked up my excess nitrates, and the algae dipped hard ...

Re: Feeding schedule for brain corals
Got a new Brain Coral last week, but it's not opening up much. How often should I feed it? Tank's a 40g breeder, running at 78F, salinity 1.025. Lights are AI Prime HDs, 10 hours a day.
Mine took a few weeks to settle in. If it's not opening, check flow. Too much can stress them. I feed mine ...

Honestly, I think it's likely a lost cause.
It's been in a low flow area since day one, so that's not the issue. Too many changes at once probably did it in. If it makes it till the weekend, I'll consider the super glue trick unless someone advises against it.

Re: Separating elegance coral from its skeleton
I'm really worried about my elegance coral, and I'm willing to try anything. Would super gluing the edge back on be a viable solution, or am I completely off the mark here?

Separating elegance coral from its skeleton
I've had this elegance coral for over 2 years now. It's been a wild ride for my tank the past couple months - cyano outbreak, lost a few corals, but I thought for sure this one would make it. I recently switched from 2x150w MH to a radion Pro, and started dosing Red Sea NOPOX. All my parameters are ...
