Re: Betta fish and water testing kits
I use the API kit too. My betta's in a 3 gallon with a heater set to 80. The strips always said my pH was fine, but the liquid test showed it was way too high. Fixed it with some driftwood.

Re: how to Propagate amazon sword
If you're gonna cut the runners, make sure the new plants have at least 3-4 leaves. Smaller ones might not make it. Also, keep an eye on your KH, low hardness can mess with growth.

What's your water temp? Mine struggled till I bumped it to 78F. Also, if the runners are long, you can pin them down with a rock till they root.

Re: My fish is not eating.
Hi,
I've got an islando damsel fish and I'm feeding him marine granules twice a day. He seems to really love algae, so I was thinking of getting some for him. Would that be a good idea or would it not provide the right nutrients?
I'd really appreciate some help with this.
Kind regards,

Re: complete the missing information
I was gonna throw out a crazy suggestion like a Great White Shark, but that's obviously not gonna work in a 20-gallon tank. For something a bit more realistic, what about a Damsel fish or a Chromis? Both are pretty peaceful and should stay small enough for your tank. A Royal Gramma Basslet could ...

Re: algae and nitrite issues
While you're at it, pick up a proper PH testing kit - those paper strips aren't exactly the most reliable, if you know what I mean.

Re: algae and nitrite issues
Hi Flowix,
I think it'd be worth investing in ammonia and nitrate testing kits to get a better idea of what's going on in your tank. If your nitrite levels are really high, it's likely that your ammonia levels are too. Given that your tank is still only a month old, it's probably still in the ...
