Tried it once, total chaos. Corys dug up my plant roots and the Discus refused to eat for days. Maybe my tank was too small (40-gallon), but I'd skip it unless you're gonna monitor 24/7.

Dude, 30% ain't bad for starters. My first batch was like 10%, lol. Maybe cut the lights a bit? Fry are sketchy with too much brightness. And yeah, almond leaves are legit.

Wild discus are like that high-maintenance ex. Looks great, but way too much work. My 100 gallon's got captive bred, and they're thriving. Re: German and Asian

I've switched to German discus recently. No plans to mix with Asian. Don't see the point of taking unnecessary risks. Disease, medications - it's just not worth it. Discus thrive in stable conditions, that's what I'm aiming for.

Francis nailed it, SwissTropicals is hands down the best for my corner matten filters. I've tried other foams from Ebay and Amazon but they just don't cut it, SwissTropicals is in a league of its own. I swear by their 30ppi for my tanks.

Jeff's a great guy, I've known him for a while now. His discus are really nice. New shipment's supposed to be coming in around late Feb or early March.
