Re: A twin spot hogfish query
I'm pretty sure the scientific name is Bodianus bimaculatus, but I've always known them as candy hogfish. Generally considered reef-safe, although, you know how that goes - doesn't mean they'll always play by the rules.
Yeah, that's the one. I had read they were supposed to be "reef safe" as ...

A twin spot hogfish query
Been curious about how these fish get along with crustaceans. Added some new hermits a day ago and my hogfish is really taking an interest in them - even had a go at one's legs.

Re: Frogspawn coral growth rates
I've got a cluster of four heads that's been in my tank for almost three months now, and to be honest, I'm still waiting for any new growth. I've also got a candy cane in there, and I'm expecting both of them to start taking in some calcium soon. Fingers crossed, it's been a bit of a wait so far.

A damsel is picking at coral

I've got a bit of an issue with my yellow tail damsel in my 24g jbj nano - it keeps nipping at the tentacles on my green star polyps. Anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks, goldfish

What constitutes rapid growth in corals
Hey guys, just a point of curiosity here -
I recently picked up a couple of LPS for my birthday to add some life to my softie tank, and I've been doing some research. I keep hearing that my candy cane polyps and frogspawn will grow pretty quickly in good conditions.
Just wondering what that ...
