Overfeeding Bettas: risks and prevention

Noticed my betta looking bloated after feeding flakes twice a day. How do y'all avoid overfeeding? I've got a 5 gallon tank, sponge filter, 78°F heater, and do 20% water changes weekly.

For real, hornwort's a lifesaver. Grows like crazy and gives fry tons of hiding spots. If you don't have a spare tank, maybe float a breeder net in there. What's the betta's name? Sometimes the feisty ones have feisty names, lol.

Can tapeworms infect plants?

Just got some floating water plants from the same friend who gave me those guppies with tapeworm - which, thankfully, I've managed to treat successfully. Now I'm curious, where did they pick up the tapeworm in the first place? Should I be treating the plants too?

Re: Discussing home lighting options

It would be better for the plants and the fish if you have the period of tank light consistent, not broken into two periods. As you are not home from 5:30 am to 6 pm, it makes sense to have the tank light on when you are there to enjoy the aquarium. You can set the timer to turn the light on during ...
