Agreed. Not worth the risk of another blowout. Check Craigslist or local groups for cheap used tanks. People are always upgrading or getting out of the hobby.

Yeah, cichlids can get feisty when cramped. What's your filtration like in the 20? Might need to up the water changes to keep params stable.

Yikes, glad the fish are okay. Did you have it on a solid stand? I've heard of tanks cracking if the weight distribution's off, even if it looks fine. Maybe check the warranty if it's only 2 years old.

Might wanna check for pests too. Flatworms or nudis can stress Zoas out. Grab a turkey baster and give them a gentle blast, see if anything flies off.

Could be bacterial too. Had a similar issue, added some microbacter7 and it cleared up. Also, double-check your magnesium levels. Low mag can make them look dull.
