Re: Setting up my marine aquarium
I think you're referring to a Regal Tang, not just a Blue Tang - those are massive, 14" fish that need at least a 5ft tank, if not bigger. A 20L tank is really too small for a marine setup, to be honest. I wouldn't even consider putting a Clownfish in there, they're better in pairs and would need a ...

Re: Reviewing the 360l stock plan
Regal Tangs grow fast, and in my opinion, they can easily reach 12" in aquariums, I've seen some in 130L tanks and they were huge. Wild size is one thing, but in home aquaria, they can still get quite big. I wouldn't put one in a tank under 5 foot, it's just not fair on the fish.

Re: Reviewing the 360l stock plan
I've found starting with 6 snails is a good way to go, I've got a large number in my tank now, but that's after it's been running for a while. It's best to begin with a small amount and add more over time as the tank matures.

Re: Reviewing the 360l stock plan
I'd start with maybe 6 Turbo or Nassarius Snails, then add more over time if you get too much algae. Red & Blue Hermit Crabs, same thing, start with a few and add more later. Cleaner Shrimp are alright, bit of a pain sometimes, but they're fine. Banded Coflake Shrimp, I'm not sure I'd add one, they ...

Re: Aggressive percussion
Thanks for the advice, I was worried sick about my firtideflow. I've decided to take the plunge and get the other perc tomorrow. I'll try to keep my cool when I go back to that LFS, but it's hard when they won't take back a fish that's not working out.

Re: Aggressive percussion
He seems to have calmed down a bit now after speaking with the LFS where I bought him from. They've still got the other one he was tanked with, but won't take him back - not impressed with that.
I've got two options - catch him and take him to a different LFS, then pick up something like a flasher ...

Re: Aggressive percussion
Honestly, the aggression towards the firtideflow is getting to me, I'd rather just get him out and back to the LFS. Get some less aggressive fish in, it's just not worth the stress. Got your PM, thanks, just waiting on the details now.
