Re: why my discus has red eyes?
Genetics, bro. Some wild types just rock the red eyes. But if it's new, maybe bump the temp to 86F for a bit? Helps with stress.

Re: Keeping kuhli loaches with shell dwellers
I'm in agreement on the water issue, but I sense it's a non-starter for you.
Moving on to behavior, I foresee potential problems. Both the loaches and shell dwellers occupy similar tank space, which could lead to competition. In this scenario, I'd bet on the Cichlids emerging victorious. They ...

Re: Keeping kuhli loaches with shell dwellers
I think they've been in hard water since day one, it's not like they're being introduced to it suddenly. If they couldn't handle it, they wouldn't be selling well in stores, right?

Re: Euphyllia ancora placement advice
Keep it away from torches or hammers if you've got 'em. My ancora got stung bad last year. Mid-level's the sweet spot, like 12-18" from light. You dosing anything?

Re: Keeping kuhli loaches with shell dwellers
The pH might not be as big of an issue as you'd think, since my kuhli loaches have been doing great in high pH water for years.

Re: Fertilizer to pair with Seachem Flourish
Light's only about a year old, so it should be fine. Gonna grab some Flourish Nitrogen and root tabs this weekend. Appreciate all the advice, folks.

Fertilizer to pair with Seachem Flourish
I've been using Seachem Flourish for my planted tank but my plants still look kinda weak. What's a good fertilizer to pair with it? My tank's a 20 gallon with Amazon swords, java fern, and some anubias. Running a Fluval LED light for 8 hours a day.

Re: best discus tank filter media
How often do y'all replace the filter floss? I've got a 90 gallon with 7 Discus, and the floss clogs up fast. Using a canister with Matrix and sponges, but the floss turns nasty in like a week. Temp's 85F, weekly 40% changes. Also, anyone tried lava rock? Heard it's cheap and effective.
I swap ...
