Nah, 10's too high unless you're running a dedicated SPS tank. Softies and LPS will tolerate it, but why risk it? Dial it back to 9 over a few weeks. Slow and steady wins the race, my dude.

Yep, and if you're worried about cost, there are plenty of affordable options out there. Just read reviews and avoid the super cheap ones. They tend to crap out fast.

Yeah, 72F is way too chill for them. I've got a 10-gallon with a 100W heater, and it's perfect. Just watch the temp for the first few days to make sure it's stable.

I'm always having to give away loads of plants from my main tank, they just grow too quickly. I often offload them on Gumtree, but you can also find some great deals on eBay if you're willing to bid on auctions.

I'm thinking of giving easylife profito a go, I've been using dry ferts in the big tank and to be honest, they haven't made much of a difference. The tetra Plantamin seems to work okay in the shrimp tank, but it's not doing much for the main tank. I hate wasting money on things that don't deliver ...

You're a lucky one, crypts can take forever to start spreading like that.
