Re: plants that work with tetras
Anubias and Java Fern are solid choices, dude. They're low maintenance and can handle the chill vibe of a Tetra tank. Just tie 'em to driftwood or rocks. My Neon Tetras love hiding in the leaves, and the plants don't mind the low light.

Hammer coral frag breakage
This frag was marketed online as a branching orange hammer, but it arrived looking like this.
Honestly, what's the prognosis for this frag? And does that resemble a branching hammer to anyone else? To me, it looks more like a wall. The seller claims it's a branching that's splitting.
Seller seems ...

Re: Struggling to keep a gold torch coral healthy
The flow hasn't changed - same spot, same pumps. The white part was previously covered by flesh, which has now receded up to the polyps. It's actually receded a total of 3/4" now, and the polyp extension is really low.

Re: Struggling to keep a gold torch coral healthy
I wish that were true, but unfortunately the tissue has indeed receded a significant amount, roughly 1/2" all the way around, with some areas being even worse.
It's really not looking good. I've taken steps to rule out environmental issues by placing it in the frag system, but sadly the decline ...

Struggling to keep a gold torch coral healthy
I've got a 2.5 year old gold torch that's taken a turn for the worse. Started about a week ago and it's been a steady decline. No alk swings, and all my other corals - SPS, LPS, the works - are doing just fine.
My water params are pH 8.1, Alk 9.6 dKH, Temp 75.5-76, and SG 1.025. I tried a Revive ...

Re: can someone identify this fish for me?
I'm thinking it could be the adult form of a damsel I've seen before, had a juvenile once, was a real cutie, white body, black pectoral fins, and an electric blue stripe on the fin with a yellow top to the body, does that sound right? I've had a look online, think the latin name might be ...

Re: can someone identify this fish for me?
That's a damsel, pretty sure of it. They tend to turn into feisty little buggers as they grow.
Just measured him, he's around 3.5" from tip to tail, maybe a bit longer. Currently in my 45 wave with 2 green chromis and a tomato clown, he's assertively showing the clown who's in charge. I'm ...

can someone identify this fish for me?
I've been given a fish and I'm totally stumped - no idea what it is. Can someone please help me figure it out?
