Yo, I just chucked in some filter media from my old tank and it cut the cycle time in half. If you know someone with an established tank, ask for a used sponge or some substrate. Works like a charm, no cap.

We just called him Scooter, it's a nickname that kinda fit him, I guess. All the other fish are still looking good, no issues so far.

So my scooter's in a bad way, not sure if he's a watchman blenny or goby, can't recall which one. Saw him earlier and he had these weird spots, wasn't white spot, more like greyish. Two hours later, found him barely hanging on, being pecked at by crabs - tried to shoo them off but he's on his way ...

I picked up a mystery coral from the $5 frag tank at my LFS - it was a brown, half-dead thing, but I figured, why not, right? It's colored up some, got a pinkish hue going on, and I'm seeing growth, but here's the thing - it's missing some key features. I mean, I see some stuff that kinda looks like ...

You mentioned getting live rock, was it already cured or did you do it yourself. I'm having a similar issue with my freshwater tank, just can't seem to keep a betta alive. Don't give up, I'm rooting for you.
