Re: Is krib caring for her eggs?

I managed to capture a few shots of the little ones, and even in just a day, they've already changed so much. They're still super tiny and tricky to photograph, but it's amazing to see them grow.

My tank's a bit messy at the moment - I'd planned on cleaning it today, but the babies are making the ...

Re: Is krib caring for her eggs?

I'm still in shock - I just spotted mama and papa krib swimming around with a bunch of tiny fry, 10 to be exact. I was starting to think I'd never see the day, especially since I only caught a glimpse of the eggs briefly. Papa was still guarding the cave, but it turns out he was just doing his job ...

Re: Is krib caring for her eggs?

I'm pretty sure it was one of them, he's still super protective of the cave. She's only about 7 months old, and he's probably around 9 months old now. I wasn't trying to breed them, and to be honest, I'm not sure what I'd do if the fry actually made it - I don't have another tank to grow them in ...

Re: Is krib caring for her eggs?

Unfortunately, they didn't survive the night. Fingers crossed for a better outcome next time around - after all, it's still early days for my krib breeding experience.

Is krib caring for her eggs?

Hey everyone, I'm a krib breeding newbie - just letting the pair do their thing. This appears to be their second spawn. Last time, I spotted the typical behavior and found the eggs, but they vanished by morning.

Fortunately, the eggs are laid near the opening of the wall crevice, giving me a front ...

Re: have you ever stopped to think about your tank?

Here's the updated tank today. I've added some new fast growers in the right corner - Cambomba and Hygro Difformis. They're still pretty short, only about 8 inches, but I'm hoping they'll grow quickly and fill out that corner nicely.

Re: have you ever stopped to think about your tank?

I'm still getting used to all the positive feedback - it's surreal to hear everyone raving about my tank.

To answer a couple of questions, I have two red tiger lilies, one in the front left corner and the other tucked away behind the wood on the left.

Regarding the driftwood, I actually have two ...

Re: have you ever stopped to think about your tank?

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I really appreciate the feedback and reassurance. I've been thinking about the bare right corner - I removed some of the red plants and relocated them to the left side, so I'm looking to create a lush, bushy area on the right. I'd love to incorporate a few ...

have you ever stopped to think about your tank?

I'm really enjoying my tank at the moment. The green water issue has almost completely cleared up - it's down to about 5% now. The plants are thriving. However, I've got this nagging feeling that something's not quite right.

I'd love to hear your thoughts - is there anything you think I could ...
