Re: Does eating and pooping mean a fish is happy?
I'll try fasting him one day a week and add some bloodworms. Thanks for the tips, everyone. This forum's a lifesaver.

Does eating and pooping mean a fish is happy?
I've noticed my Betta eats like crazy and poops a lot. Does that mean he's happy? He's in a 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter, temp at 78F, and I feed him pellets twice a day. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate.

Re: Do Bettas need a filter
Filters are a game changer. My tank's 5 gallons, sponge filter, and my betta's colors popped after a week. Also, less work with water changes, just top off and vacuum the substrate monthly.

Re: protein skimmer necessity for corals
My buddy's tank crashed after his skimmer broke. He had a ton of fish though. If you're gonna add more livestock, maybe play it safe.

Re: Why are my plants turning yellow?
I think the issue might be a nutrient deficiency - I had a similar problem a while back but adding root tabs made a huge difference, my plants are thriving now.
