Re: Poll on ocellaris clownfish
I said yes 'cause I had them in a 7 gallon bow for about 2 weeks before upgrading and they were doin' great. Clowns are super adaptable fish and as long as your parameters are on point and you're feedin' 'em well, they'll be alright. But maybe not the absolute best they can be, if you know what I ...

Re: Optimizing sps longevity through acclimation
Honestly, I've found that getting SPS from a trusted source makes all the difference. Since the systems I buy from are pretty similar to mine, I just stick with temperature acclimation. Occasionally, I'll drip acclimate if I feel it's necessary, but I've had good luck with this approach.

I get what you're saying, and yeah, it's doable. But if you're looking to keep parameters in check, wouldn't it be easier to just get a doser or do a 2-part daily? I mean, it's a small tank, so it's pretty manageable. You could do 10% or 20% water changes weekly, and that way you're not relying on ...

Re: Daily water changes in a 10g sps tank: sufficient maintenance?
Daily, I think that's a bit too aggressive for your system. I do 10% weekly on my own tank and that seems to work well. I've got a 75 gallon SPS tank and I've learned that it's not all about being spotless. I used to keep my tank super clean, but my corals were dull and lacking in color. Then I let ...

Re: pushing the limits of a clown's patience
I think you can put a clown in a 5 gallon tank, but I gotta say, water quality's gonna be a huge concern. And even with perfect water, clowns can get pretty stressed out.
As for the clown goby, I've got one in my 30 gallon tank and it's pretty chill, usually just hangs out on one side. Not a big ...
