Re: redesigning my aquarium with rock formations
I'm thinking of adding some river rock to the mix, but I'm not sure if it'll clash with the other rocks I've got in there - what are your thoughts, would it look out of place?

redesigning my aquarium with rock formations
Did a bit of rock scaping in the tank today after adding those little Cobue yesterday. I've got some pics below - would love to hear your thoughts. Planning to make that left pile a bit higher for when my next fish batch arrives.

Trusted online tropical fish retailers
I'm looking for reliable online stores to buy tropical fish. Any recommendations? I've heard mixed reviews about some sites and don't wanna get scammed.

Re: information on moorii kaiser
I've kept the same species in my tank, and they've done great together. The Labidochromis caeruleus will reach around 5 inches in length, while the Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei" will get to about 6 inches. The Iodotropheus sprengerae, on the other hand, stay relatively small, around 3-4 inches. I've ...

Re: experience with malawi salts?
I'm not familiar with Seachem Lake Malawi salts, but I can offer some general thoughts. If your pH is already in the 7.6-8.0 range, I'm not sure you'd need them. My Malawi have been thriving in my tank conditions, breeding and all, so I wouldn't say the salts are necessary. Adding them might not be ...

Re: introduction to african culture
Your pH looks good to go. Welcome to the world of Mbuna, I've got a 65-gallon tank with around 20 of them in there.
I've always been a fan of keeping things simple when it comes to additives - the less, the better. There are products that can buffer your pH to match the African rift lakes, but I ...

Re: A woman's body image: fat, pregnant, or else?
I've had similar experiences with fish that looked like they had bloat, only to find out they'd been sneaking in extra food. Try withholding food for a few days and see if that makes a difference - it might just be overeating, especially if they're getting into the Pleco wafers.

Thinking of adding red zebras, what's your take on that?
