Yeah, and if you don't have a PAR meter, some local fish stores will rent them out. Saves you from dropping cash on one if you're not sure you'll need it long-term.

I've had the same problem before. Turns out my tank was too clean. Acros need some nitrates and phosphates to color up. Try feeding a bit more or cutting back on water changes for a bit. Worked for me!

My dog was always poking around my old tank and having a drink while I was doing water changes, never had any issues with diarrhea. I mean, if the dog's eating human leftovers, it's bound to have a sensitive stomach - that's what dog food's for, right?

I'd be surprised if the fish tank water was the culprit, unless maybe some meds are being added to it. Dogs aren't exactly known for being picky about what they drink or eat - I mean, they'll lap up water from a puddle or gobble up whatever's on the floor. Thanks for the advice sSjey, really appreciate it. I'll give it a go and push the tabs into the substrate near the roots of the plants that need it most.
