All solid advice. One more thing, check for reflections. Mine were hiding because they saw their own reflection in the glass. Tilted the lights slightly, and problem solved. Good luck with the tweaks!

Mine did the same thing when I first got 'em. Turned out the filter intake was too strong. I wrapped a pre-filter sponge around it, and they stopped hiding. Also, try feeding near the front of the tank to encourage them out. Worked like a charm for me.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I'll try PraziPro and cut back on feeding for a bit. Water changes are weekly, about 25%. Substrate is sand, by the way.

My Black Molly has been pooping weirdly long strands, almost like white threads. Tank is a 20 gallon, parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate. Temp is 78F, and I feed them flakes twice a day. Anyone seen this before?
