Re: discus fry feeding schedule guide
What's the ideal temp for fry? Mine are at 82F, but I'm hearing mixed things. Also, how long do you keep them on baby brine shrimp before switching to bigger foods?
84-86F is best for growth. I switch to crushed flakes and small pellets around 4-6 weeks, but keep the brine shrimp in the mix for ...

Re: discus fry feeding schedule guide
Skyline, I've raised a few batches and found that feeding 5-6 times a day works better for growth. Baby brine shrimp is good, but you gotta mix in some finely crushed flakes or powdered fry food. Also, keep up with daily 20% water changes, they're super sensitive to water quality at this stage.

Re: Feeding tips for Mushroom Corals
Reef roids are solid, but Mushroom Corals can be picky. Try spot feeding with mysis shrimp or small bits of krill. I've got a 75 gallon with similar lighting, and mine perk up after a mysis snack. Keep an eye on flow too, they don't like strong currents.

Re: ideal temp for discus comfort
Consistency beats perfection. My 180 gallon runs at 85°F year-round, with monthly 50% changes. Discus are breeding, so it's working. Key is matching your routine to your setup. If you can't do daily changes, invest in better filtration and stick to a schedule.

Re: ideal temp for discus comfort
Agree with swiftly on stability. I run 85°F in my 180 gallon, heavy planting, and a sump. Discus are adults, 5–6 inches, and breed at this temp. Key is matching your routine to their needs. How old are yours, oizeT? Juveniles need warmer water to grow out properly.

Thanks Liz, I appreciate the tip. A large water change with cooler water might just do the trick, I'll definitely give it a shot.

Breeding Pairs?
I've had these two ring leopards for almost two years, given to me as gifts, supposedly a breeding pair. Tank conditions are all good - 30 Degrees Celsius, nitrates 8-15mg/l, no nitrites or ammonia, pH 6.8. My fluval filter's checked every 3 months, and I do 50% water changes regularly. They look ...

Two Males or Pair?
Hi Everyone,
I'm curious to know, do you think this is a pair or two males? I know it's tough to tell until they spawn, but I'd love to hear your thoughts - I'm still learning.
