If you're feeling adventurous, you could try a tiny carpet of Monte Carlo. It's a bit more work but looks amazing in a bowl. Just needs good light and maybe some liquid carbon.

One thing to watch with the bowl is water evaporation. Smaller volumes can swing params fast. Top off with RO or distilled water to avoid mineral buildup.

Dwarf Hairgrass can work if you're willing to put in a bit more effort. It needs decent light and might require root tabs, but it's worth it for the carpet effect. Just keep it trimmed.

I've got mine in a 20 gallon community tank, and he's the king of the castle. But if you're going solo, 5 gallons is the bare minimum. Anything less is just cruel, imo.

these little clown fish are literally the happiest i've ever seen - they're loving their new tank, swimming and playing in the current all day today. still planning on adding a couple of anemones for them to snuggle up on at night, no signs of stress so far. added a packet of bio marine spera before ...

I've had this piece for a bit now, and I've fragged it a couple of times - it's a great grower. Looks just like Jason's pic, no complaints here.
