I've heard Anubias can get algae if the light's too strong. Maybe cut back to 6 hours a day and see if that helps.

I've seen different colour morphs of the same species grow together, but pictures of multiple species almost touching seem scarce. Someone must have some insight on this.

I'm no expert on brain corals, but I've had a few favia, favites, and goniastrea in the past. From my experience, they seem pretty chill with each other, similar to euphyllias (torch being the exception, of course). You can definitely keep them close, just make sure to leave enough space for growth ...

Haven't had much experience with brain corals, but I was wondering if it's possible to keep similar species like favia, favites, goniastrea, and montastrea in close proximity, almost like a brain garden setup. I've seen people pair clowns with lions, and I think it can work if you're careful. As a general rule, I'd say any dwarf lion tankmates should be at least half the size of the lion, and pretty robust - that way, everyone gets along.
