If all else fails, consider a quarantine tank with methylene blue. Sometimes a reset helps. But yeah, rule out basics first.

My Discus did this once after I added driftwood. Turns out it was leaching tannins too fast. Maybe something's messing with your water chemistry subtly. Test for pH swings.

First off, be happy they're growing. Before tweaking the lights, I'd experiment with adjusting your water parameters, specifically alkalinity. Maintain low flow to minimize irritation on the exposed tissue. I'd focus on feeding it well, that's your best bet for now. Beyond feeding, I'd suggest giving it space and not over-handling it.
