Re: How to keep plants clean

Good luck, man. Algae battles are the worst, but you'll get it under control. Just don't stress too much, it's part of the hobby.

Re: How to keep plants clean

Dude, algae is the worst. I had the same issue with my Java Fern. I added a bunch of Otocinclus and they went to town on it. Now my tank's chill and clean. Maybe give those a shot?

Re: help with crowtail plaket's dorsal fin discoloration

Honestly, the photo's not the best, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm not here to judge, but I gotta say, a 10-litre tank or more would be ideal for your betta. I'm really hoping you've got a filter in there, if not, please do yourself (and your betta) a favour and get one ASAP.

Betta fish compatibility video discussion

Just stumbled upon this vid and thought I'd pass it along. I'm really intrigued by it - what are your thoughts? To clarify upfront, I'm not recommending this to anyone, especially newcomers to the hobby, but I'm genuinely curious to hear your opinions on it.

He's a stunning Bi-color VT - his coloration reminds me of my male Jade, I just adore him.

Re: A growth on my betta's tail?

The growth on your boy's tail does seem alarming, but since he's active and feeding, that's a good sign. I'd be inclined to think it might be a tumor or possibly an ulcer, though it's not severe. To be on the safe side, a treatment with Kanaplex could be worth considering, just in case it is an ...

Re: Growing bamboo with submerged leaves

I've had success with bamboo in my filter, where the stalk and roots are submerged. Now I'm wondering if it can still do well with the leaves submerged too, but the roots in the substrate.

I've also got bamboo in my tank, started growing leaves underwater a few months back and they're doing ...

Re: Betta sorority: what's the ideal number of females?

It depends on your setup, really. If your 55g is super heavily planted like you mentioned, I'd say up to 30 females could work.

Rosetail and the blue female do seem like a nice match... fingers crossed the fry turn out just as stunning as the male.
