why discus swim against glass?
Noticed my Discus keep swimming against the glass like they're tryna break out. Tank's a 75-gallon, temp at 84F, pH 6.8, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate. Got driftwood and some Java ferns, sand substrate. They're about 4 months old, eating beef heart mix twice a day. Anyone else seen this weird vibe?

Re: discus breeding tank lighting
Ditch the cheap LED, bro. Get something adjustable. I messed with my lights for weeks before my pair finally spawned. Now I run a Finnex 24/7, but keep it on a low setting. Tank's got black substrate, which seems to chill them out. Also, feed 'em live blackworms to get 'em in the mood.

Re: discus tank water prep tips
I've got 6 in my 75, seems to work. Feed twice a day, mostly pellets and frozen brine. Water changes are a pain, but worth it. They're coloring up nice now. Anyone use UV sterilizers? Thinking about adding one to keep the water crystal clear.

Re: discus tank water prep tips
Man, I messed up my first try with RO water, didn't remineralize enough. Fish were stressed as heck. Now I use Salty Shrimp GH/KH+, works like a charm. Cycling took forever though, like a month. Now I do 40% changes twice a week, temp at 84°F. They're growing slow but steady. What's your feeding ...
