Yep, gotta agree with Astrid. Cardinals are the way to go. My Discus tank's got 'em, and it's a vibe. Just don't skimp on the water changes. Discus are divas, and Tetras ain't gonna cut it if the water's sketchy. Weekly 50% changes here, and everyone's thriving.

Not a fan. Corys stir up debris, and Discus need pristine water. If you're set on it, double your water changes. My LFS warned me against it, and they breed both species.


Pfft, debris means your filter needs upgrading, honey. My FX6 handles it fine. Also, Corys are basically living vacuum ...

It's all about the Cory species, darling! Pandas will perish in that heat, but Julii or Adolfoi thrive. My tank's a planted paradise with both—zero drama. Just QT the Corys first, nobody wants a parasite party.

I had the same issue last year! My pair finally got it right after like five tries. Maybe just give them time? They're kinda slow learners, lol. Do you see them fanning the eggs at all? If not, they might not be ready to parent.


Yep, patience is key. My first pair took eight months to raise fry ...

Sounds like the eggs might be getting fungus or the parents are eating them. What's your tank setup like? Any other fish in there? Discus can be sketchy with tankmates around breeding time. Also, how old are they? Younger pairs sometimes mess up the first few spawns.
