Could be potassium too. I've had similar issues in my 40 gallon. Started dosing potassium and the yellowing stopped. What's your water change schedule? Frequent changes can strip nutrients.

Depends what you mean by peacocks, I'm guessing you're on about the cichlids? They can handle current, no worries, but if you've got gobies in the mix, that's different. If it's the cichlids struggling, I'd say take a look at your water quality, that's more likely the issue.
