Man, I left mine for a week once with just an auto feeder and came back to a algae fest. Lights were on too long, I guess. Now I use smart plugs to control everything, even the CO2. Tank's 120 gallons, bare bottom, with a sump. Maybe overkill, but hey, no algae this time.

Plants could've shifted territories. My guys went nuts when I rescaped. Maybe give 'em time to adjust?

My discus are less aggressive when I feed them in the morning. Maybe they're hungrier at night? Tank is 55 gallons, 4 discus, no other fish. I use a canister filter and keep the temp at 83F. Water changes every 6 days.

planted tanks are the best, man. my discus love it. got a 55-gallon with sand, driftwood, and tons of plants. they're always exploring. just gotta stay on top of water changes and trimming.
