For algae, I've found that a combination of manual removal, balanced lighting, and a clean-up crew works best. Otocinclus are underrated for smaller tanks.

125 gallon with a community of Rainbowfish, Congo Tetras, and a big school of Corydoras. Running dual canisters and a UV sterilizer. The Rainbows love the current.

If it's a sudden spike, consider a water change with fresh salt mix. I use Tropic Marin Pro and it's kept my nitrates stable in my 120-gallon.

information on cloudy eye cichlids
I've got a cichlid with a cloudy eye, and unfortunately, he's lost all sight in it. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what this might be and if there's a cure.
