If you've got a spare 5-gallon tank lying around, consider transferring Grosso to it temporarily - it's possible something in the current tank is poisoning him. Beyond that, I'm at a loss. Best bet is to wait for someone more knowledgeable like Ellrog or Colin to chime in with some advice.

I'm really not the best at coming up with names, but I think Blueberry could be a pretty cool fit for your pineapple betta. I mean, I'm honestly terrible at naming things, so take my suggestion for what it's worth.

I'm thinking maybe the shrimp, or possibly even the nerites, could've nipped at your betta's tail fin, causing the blackening. It's possible this is the start of fin rot, despite your good water parameters.
