If you're not running CO2, stick to low-dose ferts. Too much can mess with your balance. I use Easy Green from Aquarium Co-Op. It's simple and works for my low-tech setup. What's your nitrate level at?

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. Gonna start with rinsing food and adding a bit of GFO. I'll report back in a week or two.

phosphate control in reef tank

My phosphates are creeping up to 0.15 ppm and I'm seeing some algae growth. Running a 75-gallon mixed reef with two clowns, a yellow tang, and a cleanup crew. Using a protein skimmer and weekly 10% water changes with Red Sea Coral Pro salt. Any tips to get it under control without nuking my corals?

I've had my fair share of interactions with a frogspawn I own, touching it numerous times during cleaning or repositioning. Only once did I experience a sting, and it was relatively mild, nothing too out of the ordinary.
