Exactly this. Also, keep an eye on alkalinity. GFO can sometimes cause it to bounce around if you're not careful.

Yo, I feel you on the algae struggle. Had the same issue in my 40 breeder. Switched to feeding every other day and added a GFO reactor. Phosphates dropped to 0.03 ppm in like two weeks. Corals didn't even blink.


GFO's a solid move. Just don't go too aggressive with it or you'll strip everything ...

Suitable lighting for lps and soft corals

Planning to add duncan, hammer, frogspawn corals and toadstool, along with a few other soft corals to my tank.

One day after 20% water change, here are my levels:
10/18
0 ppm Ammonia
0 ppm Nitrite
0.5 ppm phosphate
5.0 ppm nitrate
(Did not test) calcium
8.2 pH
8 dkh
1.025 salinity
Temp 80
