Re: Best time to add fertilizers
I've heard mixed things about CO2. Some say it's overkill for low-tech tanks, but others swear by it. My tank's been running for a year with just ferts and the plants are alive, but not thriving. Maybe I should try morning dosing too.
CO2 isn't necessary for low-tech, but it's a game-changer if ...

10 ppm nitrates is decent, but you could push it to 20 ppm if you're not seeing growth. CO2 makes a huge difference, especially for stem plants. I started with a DIY setup before upgrading to a proper regulator. Just watch for algae if you crank up the light and ferts without CO2.

Re: Best time to add fertilizers
Dosing in the morning is usually better since plants start photosynthesizing as soon as the lights come on. I've got a similar setup, 20-gallon with CO2 injection, and I dose right before the lights kick on. What's your nitrate level like? If it's low, you might wanna bump up the ferts a bit. I use ...

Re: Betta fish feeding schedule
Avalon's spot on. I'd cut the bloodworms to 2-3 times a week though. They're rich and can mess with their digestion if overdone. My guy's in a 10 gallon with sand substrate, and I rotate between daphnia, brine shrimp, and pellets to keep it varied.
Yep, bloodworms are like junk food for them. I ...

Re: Cyphastrea care and maintenance
I'd recommend placing it as low as possible with high indirect flow. This way, it'll maintain its color and promote healthy growth. Cyphastrea corals tend to thrive even in areas with semi-shaded conditions, so don't worry if it's not directly under the MH.
