Who Gives A Fish Forums

Is there a specific time of day you're testing? pH can fluctuate with CO2 levels, especially in planted tanks. Testing in the morning vs. evening can give totally different numbers.

Hi all, hope you're doing great. I recently got a fish from someone who couldn't take care of it, I'm pretty sure it's a cichlid. I'd really appreciate some help identifying the type - sorry about the bad pics, the fish is super active and people keep walking by.
