if you're really into hawks, ever considered a longnose? they're pretty cool, always swimming out in the open, and look great in a tank, just a thought

discussing popular species of wrasses
So I had to scale back my reef tank plans due to budget, now I'm sticking with fish and small polyps. I'm looking for some good, reef-safe wrasses that can thrive in a community setting, look good, and do well in a 40-gallon tank.

I'm seriously impressed. Always thought bleach was a death sentence for plate corals. You've managed to turn them around, what was the trick?

What's the best extension for coral growth
Picked up these plate corals in a rough state, they were struggling and starting to bleach - wasn't even sure they'd make it. Fast forward 3 months and I'm really happy with the progress, the new feeding plan seems to be working a treat and they're extending nicely.

i feel ya, despite how my valentini was a handful, it was tough to part with him after just a few days.
on the topic of puffers, i was wonderin if there are any that aren't prone to eatin snails, crabs, or other inverts, i'm not aware of any, but i'm open to suggestions.

after that valentini ordeal, i'm good on puffers for now. so, i'm set on the flame and the longnose, just tryin to figure out what else to add. small basslets are pretty cool, like my new lantern, but we'll see.

ive tried a puffer before, had a small valentini, about 2in, but he kept nippin at my nassarius snails, so i ended up returnin him.
