Smart move. I left mine for 5 days once with just plants, and he was fine. Neighbor backup is clutch though, just in case.

If you're using a sponge filter, don't forget to get an air pump with adjustable flow. That way you can tweak it if the bubbles are too much for your fish.

Yep, sponge filters are solid. Plus, they're cheap and easy to maintain. Just gotta squeeze 'em in tank water during water changes.

Yo, I've got a bunch of Rhodactis in my nano, and they're doing great with just light. I only feed 'em like once a month, if that. Tank's got a Kessil A80, and they're growing like weeds. Maybe your lighting's doing most of the work?

How old are those RO membranes of yours, and do you have any idea what your TDS is currently reading?
