Re: setting up a 180l tank for malawi cichlids
I recall having a 50-gallon Mbuna setup, with a footprint of 36 inches by 18 inches and a height of 19 inches. It's been a while, but I remember constructing a rock slope using PVC pipe, where the entire base was covered in rocks ranging from 4 to 8 inches in size. The Mbuna seemed to thrive, each ...

Re: Exploring the world of caves
Hi, just a quick question about caves in my tank. I've got pea puffers and Otocinclus catfish on the way for my 10 gallon planted setup. What's better for them - a cave with an entrance and exit, or a one-way hideout? I also wondered if I should have a cave for each fish, so they all have their ...

Connecting a tidal 55 to an undergravel filter in a 29-gallon tank
My logic for this project is pretty straightforward - I always vacuum the gravel when making water changes, so cleaning a gravel filter doesn't add any extra work. But Aquarium Science says I shouldn't vacuum. Either way, this setup now gives me the best of both worlds: a low-maintenance undergravel ...

Re: getting started with a 60 gallon aquarium
Hey Everyone,
I'm getting a 60 Gallon Ckento4o 120 next week and I'm planning to rock scape it for hiding places and caves. I'll be cycling the tank before adding any fish.
I've been doing some research and I came across this idea of overstocking to reduce aggression in fish. KGTropicals on ...

Re: getting started with a 60 gallon aquarium
I'm not buying the "half the gallons" rule. 30 oscars in a 60G tank? No way. It's not that simple. Check out aqadvisor for a more realistic approach.

Re: new substrate for my 75-gallon planted tank
Eco-complete is another option for planted tanks. It's on the pricier side, but worth considering.

Re: Keeping corydoras with sand
I'm finally at the stage where I can start to properly plan and get bits for my new 280 litre, and I have a few questions.
Maximum sand depth?
If the minimum sand depth is around one inch, is there a maximum? I am thinking of doing a cool aquascape with areas of deeper substrate and greater ...

Re: discussing my passion for sales
Scored a great deal on the Petco tank sale yesterday. Free delivery was the icing on the cake. Feeling good about making progress on those planned tanks.
Still seems weird that tanks don't come with lids, have to grab those separately.
Some folks opt for open tops with LED lighting, so it ...
