Re: Identifying growth on hammer coral

It's definitely a frogspawn, and while they're similar to hammers being from the same genus, they're distinct species. Looks like it's gearing up to split soon.

Re: Light adaptation period for lps corals

Everything seems off. All the LPS corals I've added - elegance, torch, and bubble corals - were fully open for the first two-three days, but then they started to recede:

1. Elegance coral: fully retracted for the past 5 days
2. Bubble coral: not fully open, very small bubbles
3. Torch coral ...

Re: Hammer coral shutting down in certain areas, seeking advice

Wall hammers are notoriously tricky to keep long term, and infections are a major concern due to their poor recovery after being cut.

Looking at your parameters, I'd say the calcium level is a bit off at 360ppm - ideally, you want to be above 380, with 410-420 ppm being the sweet spot.

Re: Duncan coral health issues

My duncan coral's got brown spots and markings now. Had a gobi fish in the tank, and I couldn't find him for days - that's nothing new, he hides a lot. But since my duncan's started spotting, I'm worried. What should I do to help it?

Bleached coral needs to be moved down, into low light ...

Re: Troubleshooting issues with zoas and hammer corals

Hey all,
