Re: best discus tank vacation care
Honestly, Discus are tougher than people think. I left mine for 10 days with zero prep once (don't judge), and they were fine. Tank's 55 gallons, with a cheap internal filter. Not recommending that, but hey, sometimes we overthink it.

Re: Acropora not coloring up, any tips?
Honestly, three weeks isn't that long. Sometimes they just take a minute to settle in. Mine looked like crap for a month before they finally started popping. Patience, my dude.

Re: Why is my coral losing color?
I had the same issue last year. Turned out my tank was too clean. Weird vibe, but some corals actually need a bit of nitrate to thrive. Maybe dial back the skimmer if you're running one.

Re: Discus Not Eating - Newbie Tank Manager
I'm willing to invest in a new tank setup if it means saving my Discus. For now, I'm looking for the best way to set up a temporary hospital tank. Should I use substrate or go without? What's the best approach for water - old, new, or a 50/50 mix? I'm ...

I just observed him hiding behind the wood at the bottom of the tank, which is a new behavior for him. I'm getting a bit worried, to be honest. Those black specs on his face - do they mean anything?

Discus Not Eating - Newbie Tank Manager
I've been taking care of my son's Discus tank for 3 months now - it was unexpected, but I'm trying my best. I have some experience with aquariums, but I'm still learning when it comes to Discus.
