Is the new clown infected with a parasite?
Just got my first fish, a true percula clown, from the LFS and put it in my 10g tank. Not long after, I noticed this stringy white poop hanging from him. Did some research and it could be a parasite. His face is a bit pale too, still orange but not as vibrant as the rest of his body. Could this be a ...

Re: Duncan Frags
The coloration of the polyps looks good, that's a plus. I'm thinking maybe it's a light issue - too much or not enough. Tissue degradation can also be caused by something stinging it, that's my guess. What's the neighborhood like around the coral - anything growing that could be bothering it?

Re: is my new clown lethargic
I picked up a clownfish on Saturday, and so far, he's been pretty stationary - just sticking to one area of the tank. I'll often catch him just chillin' in his anemone, like he's found his happy spot or something. Is this normal behavior for a new fish? Is he just getting accustomed to the tank ...

Re: is my new clown lethargic
A lot of sw fish aren't surface feeders, so it's not a concern if he eats from food that drifts around the tank. Clowns tend to claim a home base and stick to it most of the time - this could be a live anemone, a coral, or even just an ornament. They're not exactly known for being super active ...

Re: is my new clown lethargic
My salinity levels are spot on. I added him on Saturday afternoon. The tank's been cycled since February, so that shouldn't be the issue. I've attached a pic of the whole tank - you can see him just chillin' in the anemone, which is pretty much his go-to spot. Sometimes he'll get up, swim around a ...

Re: Ailing acan: seeking advice on recovery
You think that white stuff on the left side of the frag might be cynao? I'm pretty sure that's what it looks like, anyway. Can you try to remove it with a turkey baster or something similar?
