Re: Comparing queen angel to powder blue variety
My tank's 150l and 3ft, so yeah it's on the smaller side. I had a Powder Blue in my old 4ft tank with less water volume and it never caused any issues, even with a heavier stock. I thought it'd be alright in this one, but I guess not. The Angel's not aggressive at all, it's actually really timid ...

Re: Comparing queen angel to powder blue variety
I'm guessing you're not running an 8-foot tank, which is what you'd need for both of these fish. If that's the case, it's just gonna get worse as they outgrow your tank.
Yeah, you're spot on, it's not exactly massive. And didn't the LFS warn me about this, fluxx?
To be honest, the Powder Blue ...

Comparing queen angel to powder blue variety
I picked up a Powder Blue Tang and a Queen Angel from my LFS back in March 2010, introducing them to my tank at the same time. Things were fine for six months, but then the Powder Blue started getting aggressive, especially towards the Queen Angel, about a week ago.

Re: sharing your thoughts on coral care
Give oyster feast a try, I saw a huge difference in my colors when I switched.

Re: sharing your thoughts on coral care
Looks good, I agree, but I'd advise against pellets. Mysis or oyster feast would be a better option for him.

Re: keeping chromis in pairs: is it possible
I've had a pair of Green Chromis in my tank for a while now. One of them is noticeably bigger than the other, and yeah, it does chase the smaller one around a bit. But that's as far as it goes, no fin nipping or any of that nonsense.

Re: Frogspawn, hammer, and gonipora: water flow and lighting preferences
I'd put the gonipora on the right, and I've actually got mine in the sand, seems to do well there. Frogspawn and hammers can handle a decent amount of flow, but I wouldn't say they love it. My experience is in a high flow SPS dominant tank, so might be different for you.

Re: auriga butterfly species discussion
Water parameters are all within normal range... but the butterfly's condition has taken a turn for the worst - it's actually passed away now and I'm pretty gutted about it.

auriga butterfly species discussion
I've had my auriga butterfly in the tank for about 2-3 months now. Initially, my yellow tang gave it a bit of a hard time, but they seemed to accept each other within a couple of days. The butterfly's been pretty laid back since then. I've had a couple of white spot outbreaks, which always started ...

xr15 pro with wide angle lens
I've been considering this setup too, Rivera5. My buddy with that JBJ 30 gallon tank had some issues with shading. He's got the XR 15 pro and it's got one puck, which creates a hotspot in the middle area. He's got it programmed but when we cranked it up to 14k on the ...
