Re: can discus handle high nitrates?
Yo, my crew chills at 50 ppm, no probs. But they're tank-raised beefheart junkies. If yours are wild, maybe cut it back. I run a sump, no plants, just driftwood. They dig it.

Re: keeping discus in a community tank
Yeah, quarantine is non-negotiable. Lost a whole tank once by skipping it. Also, what's your backup plan if the Discus doesn't vibe with the Angelfish? Got another tank or a friend who can take one?

Re: keeping discus in a community tank
Yep, gonna cut it straight, your Angelfish might mess with the Discus. They're chill but can get territorial. Tetras and Corys should be fine though. What's your feeding routine? Discus need multiple small meals, and the others might outcompete them.

Re: discus spawning cone diy ideas
Good call, Dapper. Slate's cool, but terracotta's got that natural vibe. My fish are still glued to their tile, but I might grab a pot just to mix it up. Tank's running smooth, 85°F, pH 6.5, with a sump and driftwood.

Re: discus spawning cone diy ideas
Yo, I used a slate tile leaned against the glass. Cheap as heck and my fish dig it. Tank's 50 gallons, with a sump, and I keep the temp at 85°F. pH is 6.4, and I do daily 10% changes. Works like a charm, no fuss.

I've been re-reading the instructions for MetroPlex and I'm realizing now that my dosage might be off. When mixing it into food, the water volume doesn't matter, right? It's just the amount of MetroPlex per scoop of food. According to the recipe, it's 1 scoop MetroPlex, 1 scoop Focus, and 1 tbsp of ...

He doesn't make any runs that I've seen. When she's laying eggs, he moves away, but in between her runs, he'll come in close and tend to the eggs. It's a bit strange.

Deadbeat Dad
I've got a pair of Blue Diamonds that recently paired off, and I've set them up in their own 20G breeding tank. The female's been laying eggs at least four times now, but the male just isn't fertilizing them. He does help clean the cone and occasionally blows on the eggs, which is a good sign, but ...

Finding reliable wholesale suppliers in the uk
Hi all, I'm from the Isle of Man. Been using an Irish wholesale company, but with winter here, the ferry's stopped sailing. Need a reliable UK wholesaler to turn to. I do big orders for the whole island community - we're the main fish supplier.
