Re: Help with identifying my betta's color and pattern
Thanks for the kind words. Comb tail does seem to fit her tail shape, and I agree with you on that. Her pronounced rays caught my attention, but they don't quite seem as long as crowntail rays. I'm loving the continued marbling effect - her eyes are almost completely dark now, adding to her mystique ...

Re: Help with identifying my betta's color and pattern
Thanks, I feel super lucky to have found her - her personality is just as awesome as her looks. She's got a bit of an attitude, always acting like I've forgotten to feed her, which I find adorable.

Re: Help with identifying my betta's color and pattern
I've got an update on Queenie - her colors have really popped over the last two weeks, and I think it's due to the improved tank conditions, possibly the marble gene too. The new driftwood I added is leaching tannins, giving the tank a warmer hue.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on her tail type ...

Help with identifying my betta's color and pattern
Hi everyone,
I stopped by the LFS for some plants and amano shrimp, but ended up coming home with a beautiful betta named Queenie instead. My 5.5 gallon tank was empty for the first time in almost two years after losing my previous fish, so it's great to have some life in there again.
I'm curious ...

Re: does adding rocks affect the ph in a betta aquarium?
Quick update: I decided to run a little test on one of the stones. I scratched the surface with pliers and then poured some white vinegar on it - it's a weak acid, so I figured it'd be a good indicator. But, no reaction - no fizzing whatsoever. They do bear some resemblance to ryuoh or seiryu stones ...

does adding rocks affect the ph in a betta aquarium?
I just added some awesome rocks I found to my tank, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I think they're "elephant skin stones", but they weren't labeled. The LFS staff said they won't affect my pH, but after doing some research, I'm getting a bit worried. Some sources say these stones aren't ...
