Re: algae and nitrite issues
Thanks for the advice everyone, really appreciate it. We got all the test kits in the end and tested for everything - all was fine apart from those pesky Nitrite levels still. The last two days have been a disaster, everything's died and we're totally gutted. We're going to take a deep breath, start ...

Re: algae and nitrite issues
We only have the Tetra test for NO2 - Nitrite kit and PH paper, the LFS said that's all we'd need, and to be fair our PH is spot on. We've checked the water we've been using for changes and that's fine too. We're planning a big water change for tomorrow, then we'll pop into the LFS on Wednesday to ...

Re: algae and nitrite issues
We've got the standard filter set that came with the Trigon 190 - 600 l/h and also a Fluval 304. Currently looking to get a skimmer, been told it's a must-have, but I was wondering if there's anything else you'd recommend we get?

Re: algae and nitrite issues
We've used a Tetra test kit for NO2 - Nitrite and it's coming up bright red, which I'm pretty sure isn't what we want. I think it's supposed to turn yellow or orange for a healthy tank, but I'm not 100% sure as my partner's at work and I haven't been able to confirm with him.

algae and nitrite issues
Hi,
We've been having issues with our Nitrite levels for a while now. We're using RO water, and our mate Mike (cheers Mike, if you're reading this) assures us the membrane is regularly cleaned. We've been doing water changes, but that hasn't helped. Recently, our sand and rocks started turning ...

Re: Help with stn and rtn (short-term and rapid tissue necrosis)
Hi all, I'm reaching out for some guidance as I'm having some issues with my tank.
I've had it running for about 3 years now, and it's been SPS-dominated.
The past 4 or 5 months, I've been experiencing STN (Slow Tissue Necrosis) that comes and goes.
It all started around 5 months ago when I had ...

Your coral seems more vibrant than hers, hers looks kinda pale. What's your nitrate level? Both tanks look good though. Post the parameters for both tanks, curious to see the difference.
