Re: is this a yellow lab cichlid?

I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pics. I found this link that says you can use tinypic, but I'm not sure if that's the only way. I also found this other link on this site that talks about uploading images and videos, but I haven't had a chance to read through it all yet.

Re: is this a yellow lab cichlid?

If you're looking for a cichlid that could coexist with angels, rams might be a decent option. They're generally less aggressive than other cichlids, so they might be able to hold their own with the angels.

Re: is this a yellow lab cichlid?

I'd advise against keeping African Cichlids with angels, they're just too aggressive and territorial. One species will dominate the other, and unfortunately, the Cichlids would likely bully the angels. If you're interested in learning more about different Cichlid species, I've got a link in my ...

Congrats on the Kribs. I had a blast with them back in the day, they're definitely a fun species to work with.

Optimal parameters for lps corals

I've been thinking, having kept sps and lps in separate systems, I've heard that lps do better in water with slightly higher nutrient levels. But honestly, I'm not entirely sold on the idea that they can't both thrive in similar conditions. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Optimal iron and manganese dosing for goniopora

I've been adding a single drop of Kent iron/manganese daily to my SPS reef tank for ages. Never really bothered with the instructions, figuring a drop in 80 gallons with all that coral and chaeto would be more than sufficient. But then my buddy's Gonioporas started shrinking in his 220-gallon tank ...

Re: Aquatic plants for a cichlid environment

So, should I remove the Riccia or just make a note about the pH level needing to be lower for it to do well? Thanks again for your reply!

Re: Aquatic plants for a cichlid environment

I like this thread, it's really helpful for me since I just got some cichlids and was wondering what kind of plants would do well in the tank. I was thinking the same thing, it would be great if we had a list of plants that can survive with cichlids. Only thing I would suggest is maybe adding a ...

Re: Aquatic plants for a cichlid environment

I figured it would've been a great idea for a pinned topic, ya know, since so many people were asking for it. But I'm glad I could at least make a list that you guys could help me improve. Thanks for all the feedback!

Re: Aquatic plants for a cichlid environment

I'm gonna do a little more research on those plants. Thanks for letting me know.

I just looked around again and from what I've found, those plants should be okay in a cichlid tank. But if anyone's had experience with them, please let me know.
