Re: Exploring the world of caves

In my opinion, having interesting rock formations would be the key. This allows them to graze on algae and also provides a sense of security and visual interest. I'm not sure they necessarily claim a specific cave as their own, it's more about having a variety of hideaways and visual barriers to ...

Exploring the world of caves

Hi, just a quick question about caves in my tank. I've got pea puffers and Otocinclus catfish on the way for my 10 gallon planted setup. What's better for them - a cave with an entrance and exit, or a one-way hideout? I also wondered if I should have a cave for each fish, so they all have their own ...

Re: Growing green cabomba caroliniana

Just got my Green Cabomba Carolinkento4a and I'm a bit stumped - no instructions came with it. There's this little lead clamp thingy at the bottom. Do I need to take it off or can I just use it to weigh the plant down in the substrate? If I leave the clamp on, will it stop the plant from ...

Re: Accidentally dropped Xanax in my fish tank

I'm gonna say it, might be better than a certain herb. I experimented with plants in my aquariums, but I had to yank them out - my fish developed a serious craving, they'd munch on the roots and just wouldn't stop.

@essjay Thanks for keeping me in check. I just got that java fern and I'm still prepping the driftwood it'll be attached to. That spot was just temporary, I appreciate you looking out though

Re: growing and caring for anubias plants

Anubias is the best I've had one in my tank for ages now. I'm actually in the middle of doing some aquascaping, so there's not a ton of greenery yet, but just you wait.

Re: growing and caring for anubias plants

Anubias is awesome, I'm a fan. Got one in my tank for a while now, it's doing great. Currently aquascaping, not a lot of hardscape yet but plans are in the works.

Re: Is my guppy paralyzed?

My condolences for losing your guppy. I went through a similar experience last year, losing my 16-year-old Pleco and 13-year-old Cory. It's tough when they've been with you for so long, and you've done everything you can to care for them.
