Re: phosphate remover for coral tank
GFO's solid, but if you want something gentler, try PhosGuard. It's aluminum-based, so some folks get sketched out, but I've run it for years with no issues. Just don't let it sit too long—swap it out every 3-4 days. What's your nitrate level? High nitrates can make phosphate problems worse.

Re: adding new fish to my aquarium
What are your thoughts on bringing in a new specimen, letting it settle in the QT tank for a bit till it's eating well, and then doing a preventative treatment with meds. adding new fish to my aquarium
Considering the recent disease outbreaks among fish keepers, I think it's worth bringing in a new specimen and giving it some time to settle in the QT tank - say a week or so, till it's eating well. Then, as a precaution, we could hit it with some meds to prevent any potential issues.

Re: A tang white spot headache
Blimey, mate, it sounds like you're having a right old nightmare with your tank. I'm thinkin' your Pacific Blue tang might be showin' some stress lumps, just like my Regal tang had a few weeks back. Keep an eye on him and when he's settled back in and reclaimed his old territories, they might just ...

Re: A tang white spot headache
I'm thinking the new additions might've brought it in. Sorry to hear about the hassle you're dealing with.
This is making me a bit anxious, to be honest. Still, I'm not giving up on my plans for a sw tank. Good luck with everything, really hope it works out and your tang doesn't have ich again.

is it legit to keep tawnie, blacktip, or sandbar sharks in a home tank? i was out on a bridge yesterday and caught a few tiny ones, ended up letting 'em go, but it got me thinking...
