Lyden... i've always had this perception of triggers as the big, nasty fish that eat everything in sight, but pinktails seem different, i'll def look into them.

dune9x... cheers for the heads up on the mandarin, i'll def keep that in mind for the future. And about the yellow tangs, i thought they were either solo or in groups of 6+, so 3 might not be the best idea?

Shibby... unfortunately, i don't think my tank will be covered, but if it is, i'll def check out some of those wrasse you mentioned, they're really cool looking fish.

A royal gramma, what do you guys think?

I've always got the wrong idea about triggers, thinking they're all mean and eat everything in sight. But I've gotta admit, they do look pretty cool, and I'm open to learning more about pinktails.

If you're set on a trigger, I'd recommend a crosshatch - they're pretty cool. Royal grammas are nice fish too, I can see why you'd like them. A yellow tang, regal, royal gramma, and clownfish would be a great combo - it's like a scene from Finding Nemo. If you can cover the top of the tank with eggcrate or netting, I'd say go for some wrasses - they're great fish.

Keeping royal grammas in a group would be fascinating, they'd likely display some pretty intriguing behavior, I think it's definitely worth considering.
